Commissioning Class of 2007

Gina Marie Vaccaro graduated with honours this May from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Television Production and a minor in Italian. She was a candidate to deliver the Valedictorian speech and was recently inducted into the Italian Honour Society. She is a High School Scholarship recipient and has been in ROTC since her Freshman year. She has enjoyed herself very much and has come to think of her Det 040 comrades as family. She was an active member of the cadet wing having served as Echo Flight Commander, a PA assistant, Communication Squadron Commander, and Operations Support Squadron Commander as a POC and was an enthusiastic member of Alpha Flight where she helped Alpha win High Flight 2 years in a row. She earned her Jump Wings and Parachutist badge at the United States Air Force Academy in 2004 and was recently awarded a $200 scholarship from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, General Omar Bradley Chapter. In addition to her participation in the Cadet Wing, she has been very involved with Arnold Air Society assisting the General Ira C. Eaker Squadron earn national recognition and serving as the Public Affairs Officer, Director of Operations, Candidate Training Assistant, and most recently as the Area X Commander. She was very active in all areas of campus life as well including the campus TV station, The Roar Network, the LMU Pep Band, De Colores Service Trips to Mexico, where she was a leader and served on the E-Board. She was also a member of LMU Choruses and the Sacred Heart Chapel Choir where she sang and played electric bass. In addition, she worked as a Camera Technician at the campus Camera/Sound Department and was a Production Intern at Jim Rome is Burning on ESPN for 10 months. She looks forward to becoming aPersonnel Officer at Lackland AFB and to serving her country.
